An Open Letter for X-Plosion and X-Mystique Owners Using Windows XP or Vista
Dear Auzentech Customers:
Yesterday we updated drivers for the X-Plosion 7.1 Cinema and X-Mystique 7.1 Gold sound cards. Since then, a few of customers have discovered a new bug in the XP and Vista drivers which our testing had not revealed. Therefore, we have decided to withdraw the XP and Vista drivers pending further investigation. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If you are a Windows® Vista or XP user who installed the driver, we suggest that you uninstall it and replace it with the previous version. We are communicating with the chipset manufacturer regarding the problem and expect to have it addressed soon.

Auzentech's Native-PCI Express™ HDMI Sound Card Rescheduled for Q2 2009
Santa Clara, CA–April 16, 2009: Auzentech, Inc.(www.auzentech.com) has revised the release date of the Auzen X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD sound card to the first half of 2009. As with an earlier delay announced in January, the additional time is for hardware compatibility testing to ensure that the product is stable across the full spectrum of expected hardware combinations.
"We are aware that many customers, distributors, and dealers are highly anticipating the X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD sound card and are understandably becoming impatient," said Stephane Bae, president of Auzentech, Inc.
He mentioned forums in which some participants have questioned whether the soundcard will ever be released:
"We have four different companies working in five different locations across the globe collaborating on the Auzen X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD. Some of the best minds in the industry are involved," Bae said. "It's coming."

The patch can be installed over a previously installed X-Fi Forte driver, and is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows® XP and Vista. Auzentech's Native-PCI Express™ HDMI Soundcard Coming in Q1 2009
Santa Clara, CA–January 30, 2009: Auzentech, Inc.(www.auzentech.com) has revised the release date of the Auzen X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD sound card to March, 2009. The additional time is being used for an expanded round of hardware compatibility tests.
"This decision will directly benefit our customers, dealers, and distributors," said Stephane Bae, president of Auzentech, Inc. "At product release, we will have a stable product and our support staff will be familiar with a wider range of hardware combinations."
The Auzen X-Fi™ HomeTheater HD is the result of cooperation between several companies that include Auzentech, Creative Labs, Cyberlink, and Silicon Image. In November, Auzentech rescheduled product release to the end of January to coincide with a software release by one of its partners. Today's schedule change will allow Auzentech to complete its testing of the software and hardware as complete a package.

Auzentech to Release DTS™ Connect for X-Fi™ Forte in Early February
Santa Clara, CA: Auzentech, Inc (www.auzentech.com) announced today that DTS® Connect will be available for the new X-Fi™ Forte 7.1 sound card in early February. DTS™ will be available for Windows Vista®.
"This is a slight delay that came as a surprise to all of us," said Auzentech President Mr. Stephane Bae. "We had planned to post the DTS™ driver this week."
The new release schedule is due to a licensing agreement between two of Auzentech's partners. That agreement will be in place in early February. At that time, the DTS™ driver will be available for download.
DTS Connect™, DTS Interactive™, and DTS Neo:PC™ surround sound technologies will be available to X-Fi™ Forte customers who use Windows Vista®. Dolby™ Digital Live surround sound technology is already included in the driver.

This letter is to inform our customers that we have decided not to develop a Linux driver for the X-Fi Prelude. This breaks from our earlier intention to release Linux drivers for the sound card..
After extensive negotiations with our partners, we found that the technologies necessary for the X-Fi Prelude to be differentiated in the marketplace are not available for the Linux platform. Without these audio technologies, the benefits of the X-Fi Prelude's superior hardware would be limited.

Auzen X-Tension HDMI 1.3 Board Superseded by Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD
Santa Clara, CA - September 17, 2008: Auzentech, Inc.(www.auzentech.com) announces today that the Auzen X-Tension HDMI 1.3 board demonstrated at CES 2008 will not come to market. Instead, Auzentech will focus its HDMI efforts on the forthcoming HDMI 1.3-native PCI Express card, the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD.
According to Stephane Bae, President of Auzentech, the Auzen X-Tension HDMI 1.3 board had been developed as an extension board for use with selected previous and present Auzentech soundcards. It was developed without the participation of the major technology owners, and therefore would have had limited capabilities that were acceptable based on research performed at that time.
The Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD, on the other hand, has broad support for audio technologies in the marketplace because it was developed in partnership with Creative, Cyberlink and Silicon Image. The Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD outputs a bitstream of high-definition, multichannel audio from Blu-ray Discs with no downsampling, to take full advantage of lossless digital audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
"We developed the Auzen X-Tension HDMI 1.3 board before entering into agreements with Creative, Cyberlink and Silicon Image. These agreements have made the impossible, possible -- by uniting the technologies necessary to fully support HDMI 1.3 in compliance with HDCP and AACS," said Stephane Bae.
The Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD is scheduled for release in Oct. 2008. An upgrade and pre-order promotion is planned shortly before the release date.

DTS® Interactive
We are pleased to announce for July 1 the Beta release of the X-Fi Prelude Beta 1 driver which provides DTS® Interactive on WIndows Vista. This is a stable driver consistent with the one we recently advance-released to a select group of Beta Testers for their feedback. See the driver screenshot (right).

Having received a number of complaints regarding the new registration process for X-Fi Prelude 7.1 drivers, I wanted to express my regret for any inconvenience caused to our customers.
Many emails asked why we require registrations for this one soundcard, since we have never done so before. To our surprise, a gentleman named Daniel Kawakami released a Dolby Digital Live Unlocker for Creative SB X-Fi series 1.0.0.0. He provided a link to download the Auzentech driver from our website and an unlocker to enable Dolby Digital Live on other X-Fi soundcards.
Daniel's actions, although done without malicious intent, have consequences.
Our servers were strained due to a sudden download increase from non-Auzentech customers, affecting our customers negatively.
Our licensing agreement with Dolby was threatened, because it only grants you, our customers who have paid for the license, the right to use Dolby Digital Live.
Daniel's actions also did not take into consideration the effort required to make Dolby Digital Live available. We work hard to provide drivers such as Dolby Digital Live and the soon-to-be-released DTS Interactive to our customers. These things don't just happen; we work long hours, and we can only continue to do so with the support of the audiophile community.
We are working to simplify the registration process or to find another solution to the problem. Nevertheless, if you are an Auzentech customer, please accept my apology for the inconvenience.

An Open Letter to Auzentech Customers
Dear Valued Customers:
"One week after product launch, we received notice from C-Media that they had granted exclusive rights for the CMI-8788 chipset to a competitor..."
From time to time, we receive inquiries as to why we stopped production of the Auzen X-Meridian 7.1 sound card soon after its launch. That sound card was custom-designed to make the most of the CMI-8788 chip from C-Media. Our next sound card, the Auzen X-Fi Prelude, has been custom-designed around the Creative X-Fi chipset.
Moving beyond the X-Meridian 7.1 so quickly was a difficult decision. One week after product launch, we received notice from C-Media that they had granted exclusive rights for the CMI-8788 chipset to a competitor, ASUS, and that we must purchase any chip inventory by a certain date. Sound cards from other companies that use the CMI-8788 are built with chip inventory purchased before the deadline.
It had never occurred to us to squeeze our competitors out of the market for a chip, and we still find it troubling – especially in light of the time we spent developing a product around the CMI-8788 chip. Other companies that only built the "reference board" may not have suffered significantly, but Auzentech lost development time, effort and money – the very things that even now make the X-Meridian 7.1 the best CMI-8788 soundcard to have reached the market.
The only reason we moved beyond the X-Meridian 7.1 so quickly after product launch is because we no longer had reliable access to the chipset. We have attempted to acquire additional stock from C-Media, but those requests have been rejected. If you have an interest in more X-Meridians being manufactured, you might consider lobbying C-Media to supply the chipset to Auzentech.

Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1 Release Update
Santa Clara, CA -August 2, 2007: Auzentech, Inc. (www.auzentech.com), a leading developer of audiophile-quality soundcards, announced today a revised shipping estimate of the first half of August for the company's new sound card, the Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1.
Shipment of the Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1 is imminent now that testing is completed and production is beginning.
The release date for the Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1has been revised twice before, most recently to allow for in-depth testing of both drivers and hardware. The previous announcement noted that the analysis performed by Auzentech engineers is more detailed than that described on audiophile websites, and is one reason for the superior audio produced by Auzen soundcards.
Auzen X-FI™ Prelude 7.1 will fully support EAX 5.0 and have expandability similar to that of the Auzen X-Meridian™ 7.1. Support for Dolby® Digital Live real time encoding for Vista is scheduled for Q4 of this year. The soundcard marks the first time Creative has permitted a third-party soundcard vendor to use the Creative X-FI™ chipset in its own soundcard design.
