Free Sound Card Driver

Q: Where can I download a free sound card driver?

A: Visit the manufacturer site for your free sound card drivers. For specific technologies such as DTS connect, you may need to look elsewhere for software to decode the signal and present it to your soundcard for down sampling.

For example, today's movies are likely to be encoded with DTS Interactive technology, providing 7.1 channels of surround sound. You can download and install players that will decode DTS for playback through your built-in sound card. Many people think of these as sound card drivers, although they are not exactly the same thing. Remember however that if your soundcard only has stereo capability, the 7.1 channels will be down-mixed to stereo.

Auzentech PCI sound cards are recognized "world firsts" that can supply all the audio without down sampling. If you have a Dolby® or DTS® home theater system, you can connect your Auzentech sound card directly your audio visual receiver and enjoy surround sound faithful to the original recording. Auzentech regularly updates their site with the newest free sound card driver.

Auzentech sound cards avoid down sampling to stereo because they include built-in surround sound technologies, and all the free sound card drivers you need to make the most of it. The X-Mystique sound card was the first add-in sound card to encode a Dolby® Digital 5.1 signal. The X-Plosion followed as the first certified Dolby® Digital Live (DDL) and DTS-Connect PCI Audio board available providing up to 7.1 channels of surround sound. Both cards can handle 24-bit output at 96 KHz for true fidelity to most audio sources.

For the most discerning audiophiles, Auzentech has developed the X-Meridian PCI sound card. This sound card will handle 24-bit output at 192 KHz, the maximum for DVD audio. It also supports DDL and DTS-Connect, providing between 5.1 and 7.1 channels of pure digital surround sound. As with the earlier sound cards from Auzentech, this will come with free sound card drivers.

The free sound card drivers for Auzentech sound cards are constantly updated. Check the Website occasionally to verify that you have the most recent drivers. Even better, sign up to receive updates from Auzentech. You will receive occasional announcements of products, specials, services, and free sound card driver downloads.
